What is a Blog?
A blog
is basically an online journal. Individuals comment about their
experiences, life in general or relevant topics from their day to day
lives. Where do you fit into this equation? Each blog
has a comments section- if you read something that gets you thinking
or that you feel you have a different take on or some information to
share, please take a moment and leave a comment. Who knows what
exciting relevation may come about because of and ongoing dialog through
the comments section?
Blog entries are listed in reverse chronological order,
with the most recent posting on the top of the site. Anyone following
the blog can comment on the topics that are being discussed.

Here at DSI, I am an Application
Specialist. But in larger terms, I have been involved with corrections
for over 9 years. I earned my degree in criminal justice and my
knowledge about corrections comes from in-the-field
exposure. So I can relate to all of your experiences! Previously,
I worked as a Corrections Officer, Counselor and Work Release
and Electronic Monitoring Coordinator before being employed at
DSI. My knowledge of corrections is extensive - from the line
officer’s point of view to upper management practices.

Welcome
to my first blog post for DSI/ITI! If you are a DSI/ITI
customer, there is a good chance we have crossed paths at some
point in my tenure here. Whether it was when I was a software
engineer, or Team Lead or maybe while at my current position as
Chief of Product Development. For those non-customers out
there (you know who you are), thank you for coming and I look
forward to your comments! To

One
of the things that has always fascinated me in working with and
within the criminal justice system is the fact that so many agencies,
whether they be police, corrections, courts or others collect
vast amounts of data but often do little or nothing with it. Throughout
my career I have focused on this issue and have been very fortunate
to have had the opportunity to work in practical law enforcement,
academia and private industry. As such I have worn many “hats”,
whether as a crime or intelligence analyst, as an adjunct professor
or lecturer, a systems scientist, a developer, project manager
or contractor. To

Greeting
and thanks for checking into this Angel Hernandez character.
Since you're looking, here's a little background. You supply the
Musak. Aside for a few economic diversions (sold cars post 9/11),
my career revolves around improving how people can do their work.
I spent a few years in the academic sector so my main "people"
were instructors, academicians, and learners. I got to do
a decent balancing act of optimizing software and hardware to
accomplish this. While it starts to peg the geek-o-meter,
it's very satisfying to see all sorts of work getting done more
efficiently, and yes, more effectively. To

Welcome to Tom Gibney’s blog! When I was first asked
to begin a blog, I thought ‘Nope, that’s not for me.
I’m probably the last person that should begin a blog!’
Don’t believe me? Well, I’ve taken the liberty
of creating a list of reasons why I should NOT be a blogger....Hope
you enjoy! To

Hello!
I’m Michelle Gardner and I’m a Corporate Trainer for
DSI/ITI. I’ve worked as a Trainer at DSI for almost three
years. Throughout my three years at DSI, I have had the opportunity
to visit many jails across the country both large and small.
My hope is that
I can bring my experience in education into the jail setting to
help make a cohesive training plan for new DSI/ITI products being
implemented in your facility.To
